Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 for its San Diego location. The role operates on 2nd shift (1:00 pm - 10:30 pm) with a 7% hourly differential. Primary duties include handling fragile composite materials, lay-up and bonding of composite products, and adherence to written instructions.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and experience in composites/manufacturing within space or aerospace contexts, with basic math and blueprint-reading skills. U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 0-2+ years in composites lay-up/bonding in manufacturing.
• Experience in composites/manufacturing for space or aerospace structures.
• Able to read/interpret blueprints or shop drawings in English.
• Proficient in basic shop arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Handle and manage fragile composite materials.
• Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products.
• Lay up uni-directional and weave pre-pregs.
• Report status/progress and interface with other teams.
• Prepare tooling and apply releases.
• Use calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabrication.
• Maintain clean, organized shop area.
• Follow written instructions precisely.
