Job summary

Northrop Grumman in San Diego is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 to perform functions across manufacturing operations in layup and panel fabrication, handling fragile composite materials and bonding processes.

Responsibilities include prep and lay-up of prepregs, tooling prep, using calipers and rulers, and maintaining shop cleanliness; ability to read written instructions and blueprints; US citizenship required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 0-2+ years' composite lay up/bonding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in a composites/manufacturing environment (space/satellite structures, aerospace manufacturing environment)
• Able to read, write and follow written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings in English.
• Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic.
• US Citizenship required.

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 for our San Diego location.

The Manufacturing Technician 1 position performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations in layup and panel fabrication.

• Demonstrated Mechanical Ability.
• Able to read, write and work to written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings in English.
• Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic.
• Ability to work under limited supervision.
• US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 2 year Technical degree and 3 years' minimum experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Excels in a team environment.
• Ability to work under limited supervision.
• Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize.
• Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues.
• Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,400.00 - $72,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
