Job summary

Hope Haven, Inc. is seeking an Agency Compliance Coordinator in Charlotte, NC to oversee the agency’s compliance program across all services, ensuring CARF accreditation readiness and adherence to NC DHHS licensure and Medicaid policies.

The role reports to the Director of Admission and Regulatory Compliance and interfaces with staff across departments. The candidate will monitor licensing, privacy laws, and incident reporting, coordinate annual risk assessments, and lead training and reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in compliance, quality assurance, or accreditation in a behavioral health, substance use disorder, or licensed health care setting.
• Experience with CARF accreditation standards and survey preparation.
• Working knowledge of NC Medicaid clinical coverage policies, LME/MCO requirements, and 10A NCAC 27G licensure rules.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements.
• Experience with electronic health records; experience with KIPU preferred.
• Qualified Professional (QP) status or Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain requirements clearly to staff at all levels.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insured by Hope Haven’s carrier.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the agency’s compliance program and annual compliance work plan under the direction of the Director of Admission and Regulatory Compliance.
• Coordinate the Compliance and Quality Committee, including agendas, minutes, and tracking of action items.
• Provide monthly compliance reports to the Director and prepare quarterly summaries for leadership and the Board.
• Maintain a confidential process for staff to report compliance concerns and report all concerns promptly.
