Job summary

Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging in North Olmsted, OH seeks a Compliance Generalist who is a Registered Nurse or Licensed Social Worker to evaluate care management and assess compliance with program requirements.

The role requires clinical knowledge, data analysis, and ability to develop action plans for risk mitigation. Exempt, full-time with a salary around $60,600 per year.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with the Ohio Board of Nursing or currently licensed as a social worker by the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board.
• Preference for at least 2 years of compliance, supervisory or quality improvement experience.
• Experience with team process, assessment and case work preferred.
• Must have strong organizational skills with accuracy and keen attention to details.
• Must have research and analytical skills
• Must have excellent interpersonal and business communication skills.
• Ability to communicate in a collaborative, effective manner with others and to maintain good working relationships.
• Must be proficient with computer applications, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) for word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, databases, email and use of the Internet to research and create documents and materials.
• Ability to use and be trained in multiple databases.
• Must have a car available during working hours, as well as the ability to legally drive a car.
• Ability to independently identify, research and resolve issue
• Sound technical skills, analytical ability and good judgement
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, completing chart audits

Responsibilities

• Serves as clinical and compliance subject matter expert.
• Evaluates cases for compliance with contract and regulatory requirements as well as standards of care and sound clinical judgment.
• Develops, initiates, maintains and revises policies and procedures related to general operation of Compliance Program for assigned programs.
• Provides post audit findings and recommendations to ensure contractual program and compliance standards.
• Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk. Works with Compliance Officer and other departments to develop corrective action plans for resolution of issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future based on regulatory requirements and clinical experience.
• Provides reports on a regular basis to keep the Compliance Officer, Compliance Committee and/or senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously by maintaining established time frames, adhering to deadlines and communicating changes effectively.
• Maintain minimum proficiency in all requisite computer applications and software.
• Maintain consumer confidentiality according to agency policy.
• Participate in trainings, meetings, in-services and continuing education opportunities requested by supervisor or manager.

Position Summary:

The Compliance Generalist is a Registered Nurse, or Licensed Social Worker who uses clinical knowledge to determine, through case reviews, the agency’s compliance with program and regulatory requirements.
