Kids for the Future is seeking a Compliance Assistant to support AWI's Compliance function, collaborating with the Compliance Program Manager and team to keep properties compliant with housing program requirements. The Compliance Assistant provides direct, hands-on support to AWI's Compliance function, working closely with the Co mpliance Prog ram Manager and the Compliance tea m to keep properties within the AWI portfolio ready and in compliance with applicable housing program requirements. This role assists with pre-audit preparation, audit responses, fair housing marketing plans, demographic reporting, and file processing, with particular emphasis on support during year-end reporting and HUD/CTCAC audit cycles.
High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or experience in affordable housing compliance a plus .
Compliance background in affordable housing preferred (LIHTC/Section 42, HUD Section 8, or CTCAC).
Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations and Affrimative Fair Housing Marketing Plans.
Familiarity with property management or compliance tracking software (e.g., Yardi).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines at once.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with residents, property management teams, and the compliance team.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Ability to handle sensitive resident information with discretion.
Availability for increased hours during year-end reporting and HUD/CTCAC audit season.
