Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Decatur, AL, seeks a Complex Safety & Health Manager to lead the health and safety programs across the plant, feed mill and hatchery, ensuring OSHA, DOT and other regulations are met. The role guides policy interpretation, develops the annual Safety and Health Plan, and drives continuous improvement in environmental, health and safety systems while mentoring staff.

Excellent leadership, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with facility leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety or Health Management is required.
• Minimum five years' safety management/compliance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing direct reports and leading teams with strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and related regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee health and employee safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain systems, procedures, and training to maintain an accident- and injury-free workplace.
• Lead the site's annual Safety and Health Plan and budget.
• Manage regulatory requirements and coordinate corrective actions with agencies as needed.
• Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action plans.
• Lead health & safety reviews of equipment modifications and process changes.
• Drive continuous improvement in EH&S systems and culture across the site.
• Partner with facility leadership to set annual health, industrial hygiene, safety and workers' compensation objectives.
• Mentor and train staff, providing timely feedback on performance and development.
