Job summary

American International Group, Inc. (AIG) is seeking a Mass Tort and Complex Casualty - Complex Director to lead coverage evaluations, guide counsel engagement, and steer complex claims strategies dealing with long-tail exposures and environmental toxic tort matters.

You will collaborate with claims, underwriting, and business leaders to address evolving risk, including PFAS and opioids-related issues, and develop strategies for favorable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Legal, Insurance, Construction Defect or Environmental experience preferred.
• Ability to handle complex claims involving diverse coverage issues related to GL and Environmental policies.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, along with excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate coverage on sophisticated insurance products.
• Hire and manage counsel to help evaluate coverage and defend our insureds.
• Assess damages with support of outside experts.
• Evaluate financial impact to AIG and to our insureds.
• Formulate and execute strategies for favorable claim resolution; negotiate with insureds and third parties.
• Advise business partners concerning exposures and potential product changes and enhancements.
• Advise claims and business leaders on emerging risks.
