Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Competitive Intelligence Manager to lead our CI strategy and enterprise reference program. You will cultivate customer advocates, provide market insights, and influence product, pricing, and GTM decisions.

This role collaborates with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Leadership to translate data into actionable guidance. You will build battlecards, reference assets, and strategic recommendations while managing enterprise references and advocacy activities.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years in competitive intelligence, product marketing, reference management, strategy, or sales enablement within HCM/HR tech or adjacent enterprise SaaS.
• Demonstrated experience building battlecards, win/loss programs, pricing benchmarks, fulfilling references and CI repositories.
• Strong quantitative analysis (Excel/Sheets; familiarity with BI tools like Tableau/Power BI) and qualitative synthesis skills.
• Excellent storytelling and executive communication; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
• Familiarity with HCM domains (HR, payroll, time & attendance, benefits, talent, compliance) and key buyer pain points.
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, Finance, Legal.

Responsibilities

• Lead CI and reference management efforts, shaping market insights and competitive narratives.
• Develop battlecards, talk tracks, and vertical/role-specific enablement materials.
• Provide strategic recommendations to Sales, Marketing, Product, and Leadership.
• Own enterprise reference program and manage advocate network for high-value opportunities.
• Coordinate with Revenue Operations to support enablement and deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align CI with GTM strategy and pricing.
