Job summary

Block is seeking a Compensation Strategy & Program Lead to join our AI‑driven compensation model. You will own major program pillars, sculpt scalable frameworks, and drive self‑service governance while influencing global pay philosophy.

You will work with a lean pod of Program Leads to deliver consistent, data‑driven compensation strategies across geographies. You will lead initiatives on focal cycles, equity architecture, salary structures, geo-pay and promotions, partnering across Comp Ops,

Qualifications

• 6+ years of proven experience designing, iterating, and scaling enterprise compensation programs end‑to‑end.
• A high degree of independence in driving portfolios with strong cross‑functional collaboration.
• A strong instinct to solve edge cases through policy redesign, automation, and self‑service tooling.
• High proficiency in quantitative modeling and evaluating macro compensation metrics.
• Substantial compensation experience and fluency with modern comp planning, HRIS, and data/analytics tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own & Deliver Core Program Portfolios: take strategic and operational ownership of assigned program pillars, with agility to rotate portfolio ownership.
• Collaborate within the Program Lead Cohort: partner with peers to ensure strategic alignment and unified program delivery.
• Build for Scalability & Self‑Service: translate compensation rules into automated workflows and centralized reporting.
• Establish Policy as Code & Governance: design transparent guardrails and delegation frameworks for pay decisions.
• Serve as a Macro‑Level Strategic Advisor: advise leadership on talent market positioning and pay equity.
