Dow Jones is hiring a Compensation Operations Specialist to join our People Team in New York City. Reporting to the Compensation Director, this role combines compensation analysis with core HR operations oversight.

You will drive the evolution of the Compensation function by simplifying processes and leveraging automation to make programs more efficient and scalable. You will lead compensation operations, identify automation opportunities, and partner with HRIS to optimize Workday across the

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in compensation, HR operations, or a closely related generalist role in an enterprise environment.
• Proven track record of managing compensation routines, auditing HR data, and identifying workflow automations.
• Strong project management capabilities with experience leading major HR programs from planning through execution.
• Direct or indirect leadership experience guiding junior team members or operational coordinators.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and HRIS platforms (Workday or similar).
• An undergraduate degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead compensation operations and cross-functional processes with accurate data and strong controls.
• Identify opportunities to streamline compensation processes and automate workflows.
• Apply solution-oriented thinking to optimize efficiency and scalability.
• Partner with HRIS to optimize Workday and related systems for better automation.
• Develop and maintain compensation processes, controls, and operating procedures.
• Build reporting and tracking for visibility into compensation activity and metrics.
• Support annual salary planning, incentives, promotions, and market adjustments.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI to simplify compensation processes.
