Job summary

Bakemark in Pico Rivera, CA is seeking a Compensation Specialist to design, implement, and administer compensation programs across multiple states. You will ensure competitive pay practices, compliance with wage laws, and alignment with business goals while partnering with HR and operations.

The role covers market pricing, pay structure development, and support for hourly, salaried, and incentive pay across manufacturing, distribution, and corporate functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance or related field.
• 2-3 years of compensation or HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution.
• Strong understanding of multi-state wage and hour laws and compliance.
• Experience with hourly, salary, commission and component pay structures.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).

Responsibilities

• Analyze compensation data across locations including plants, distribution centers and corporate functions.
• Provide monthly reporting on Sales Subsidy to Commission Gap information to Leadership.
• Conduct market pricing using industry salary surveys (manufacturing, supply chain, logistics).
• Develop and maintain pay structures for hourly, salaried and incentive-based compensation programs.
• Support pay strategies for high-volume hourly workforces (shift differentials, overtime, premium pay).
• Partner with HR and operations on hiring rates, promotions and internal equity across regions.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws across states.
• Monitor pay equity initiatives across job categories.
• Assist with union-related compensation structures (if applicable).
• Support annual compensation cycles (merits, bonuses, incentives).
• Maintain and audit compensation data in HRIS systems for accuracy.
