Job summary

Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) is seeking a Compensation Analyst to provide analytical and operational support for compensation programs serving GSOC, OPC, and GTC. This role focuses on market pricing, job evaluation, data integrity, and HRIS reporting to help keep compensation practices accurate, consistent, and compliant.

You will partner with the Compensation team, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and department managers while maintaining strong focus on data integrity,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, HR, Economics or related quantitative field.
  • 2+ years in HR analytics, compensation administration, or financial analysis preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of compensation fundamentals and labor laws (FLSA friendly).
  • Strong Excel abilities (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables).
  • Experience with HRIS data and market pricing software is a plus.

Support Best in Class Compensation Practices Across the Family of Companies

Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) is seeking a Compensation Analyst to provide analytical and operational support for compensation programs serving GSOC, Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC), and Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC). This role supports routine job evaluation, market pricing, FLSA compliance, data audits, reporting, models, and HRIS records that help keep compensation practices accurate, consistent, and compliant.

As a Compensation Analyst, you will partner with Compensation, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and department managers while maintaining a strong focus on data integrity, confidentiality, and responsive service. Developing compensation professional responsible for analytical and operational support across market pricing, job evaluation, FLSA support, HRIS data audits, reporting, and annual compensation cycle operations.

This opportunity is ideal for an analytical and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with compensation data, Excel models, HRIS records, market survey information, and operational processes that support fair and market-informed pay practices. This role works under the general supervision of the Director of Compensation and receives day-to-day direction from the Compensation Partner while referring non-routine or complex issues to senior compensation staff.

What You'll Do

As a Compensation Analyst, you will help support compensation operations, market pricing, job evaluation, compliance documentation, analytics, and annual compensation cycle activities across the Family of Companies.

You will:

  • Perform routine job evaluations, benchmark mapping, and initial salary range recommendations for new or updated requisitions using market survey databases.
  • Assist with annual salary survey participation by gathering, cleaning, and formatting job and pay data under guidance.
  • Support maintenance of the central job description library, job codes, and titling alignment across the HRIS.
  • Review job description questionnaires and draft descriptions against basic FLSA exemption duty tests to support exemption determinations.
  • Help conduct periodic audits of HRIS job indicators, including FLSA flags, EEO categories, and pay grade assignments.
  • Organize and maintain audit trails, duty test documentation, and rationale logs for legal and regulatory compliance reviews.
  • Populate and maintain standard Excel models, dashboards, and reporting templates for merit tracking, internal equity checks, and budget variance analyses.
  • Run routine and ad hoc compensation reports from the HRIS for HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and department managers.
  • Perform data integrity audits prior to major compensation cycles to identify missing data, pay inconsistencies, or structural anomalies.
  • Provide operational support during annual merit, promotion, and variable bonus planning cycles, including data validation, system testing, and employee letter generation.
  • Serve as a first-line resource for Talent Acquisition and HR Operations regarding routine salary range inquiries, standard offer reviews, and job code creation.
  • Support the Compensation Partner by pulling background market data, job summaries, and historical pay details needed for business unit consultations.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Economics, or a related quantitative field. Equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related work experience may be considered.
  • Ideally, 2+ years of progressive experience in HR analytics, compensation administration, or financial analysis.
  • Baseline understanding of compensation fundamentals and foundational labor laws, including Fair Labor Standards Act principles and exemption definitions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, and logical functions such as IF, AND, and OR.
  • Exposure to enterprise HRIS platforms, such as Workday, UKG, or SAP SuccessFactors, and market pricing software, such as MarketPay or PayScale.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy, auditing, and report formatting.
  • Strong discretion and confidentiality when working with employee pay, performance ratings, and organizational strategy.
  • Clear, responsive communication when supporting recruiters, HR partners, and manager inquiries.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines during peak compensation cycles.
Preferred Qualifications
Compensation & Compliance Support
  • Experience supporting market pricing, salary range recommendations, job evaluation, benchmark mapping, or compensation reporting.
  • Exposure to FLSA exemption reviews, EEO category audits, pay grade assignments, or related compensation compliance documentation.
  • Interest in learning compensation theory, business structures, and regulatory frameworks.
Systems, Analytics & Reporting
  • Experience working with HRIS data, compensation reporting templates, dashboards, or data integrity audits.
  • Experience supporting merit, promotion, variable pay, or other annual compensation cycles is a plus.
  • Experience with compensation survey data or market pricing software is a plus.
Certifications
  • Interest in pursuing the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation is encouraged.
