Gateway Services is seeking a Veterinary Route Service Specialist in Sandston, VA. This full-time role involves direct client interaction with veterinary clinics and pet parents, managing an assigned route, and handling pets with care and professionalism.

The position requires physical activity, high accountability, and the ability to work early mornings and weekends. Training is provided, and benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in customer service or route-based work preferred.
• Comfortable using mobile technology and CRM systems.
• Able to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted clinic relationships.
• Ensure pets are handled and transported with dignity.
• Execute pickups and deliveries accurately and on time.
• Double-check names, IDs, and instructions using company technology.
• Document requests and complete follow-through.
• Interacting with pet parents with compassion and professionalism.
• Return to Care Center to unload pets and hand off to Operations.
• Maintain responsibility for each pet until received and documented.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clinics and address questions promptly.
• Deliver high-quality, compassionate service and gather feedback from clinics.
• Complete route stops accurately and on time; follow safety policies.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and equipment.
• Assist with basic account-related administrative tasks.
• Provide clinics with information on services and commemorative options.
• Identify service opportunities and refer leads to Business Development.
