• Greet clients with warm acknowledgement and professional demeanor
• Maintain friendly eye contact and approachable manner
• Be a compassionate listener
• Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the phone
• Assess each arrival’s urgency and the pet’s condition
• Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency
• Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the right team member
• Confirm appointments in advance and share prep information
• Offer emotional support and resources to grieving clients
• Serve as liaison during handling of pet remains with complete, compassionate process
