Job summary

Northside Veterinary Clinic in Williamsburg, Brooklyn seeks a skilled Veterinary Receptionist to be the primary contact for clients and their pets. The role blends administrative precision with warmth in sensitive situations, supporting a full-service, state-of-the-art animal hospital.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
• Experience with veterinary practice management software (Cornerstone/Avimark/ImproMed/eVetPractice/ezyVet).
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, vaccination protocols, and basic diagnostic procedures.
• Proficiency in scheduling, multi-line phone management, medical records management, and payment processing.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and check in patients, verify and update medical records, and confirm appointment details using practice management software.
• Answer and manage a multi-line telephone system, responding to inquiries about scheduling, refills, vaccination records, and hospital information.
• Process payments, post charges, explain invoices, and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Communicate medical information accurately and compassionately, including euthanasia scheduling and end-of-life discussions.
• Maintain EMR/PIMS records and ensure timely data entry, coordinating with veterinarians and staff to maintain patient flow.
• Maintain reception area cleanliness and organization to ensure a positive client experience.
