Petco is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support Vetco Total Care hospital patients and provide exceptional customer service to pet owners. You will help ensure smooth clinic operations, document patient histories, and assist in exams, surgeries, and treatments with the veterinary team.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, precise recordkeeping, and adherence to safety protocols in a fast-paced hospital environment. Prior veterinary experience is preferred; training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly document patient information.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with veterinarians and technicians.
• Compassionate, professional demeanor when interacting with clients and pets.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, record weights and vital signs, and document in EMR.
• Assist doctors with routine and emergency appointments, surgeries, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint, obtain and process lab samples, handle medications and maintain records.
