Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital seeks a Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital team, supporting veterinarians and technicians while ensuring safety for pets and people. You will help maintain clean facilities, prepare exam rooms, and assist with procedures under state practice acts and NAVTA guidelines.

You will communicate with clients, educate them about preventive care, and mentor other team members. A positive attitude and commitment to quality care are essential.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform NAVTA-level veterinary assistant tasks.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards that keep pets safe, and the treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean and organized.
• Educate clients about our Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
