Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. You will support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and staff while helping deliver quality veterinary care.

You’ll use your clinical skills daily and educate clients on preventive care and wellness plans. You will help maintain smooth patient flow, collaborate with the veterinary team, and mentor other associates as needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate of NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure safety of pets, clients and staff.
• Maintain flow of patients and communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Educate clients about preventive care and Optimum Wellness Plans.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
