Job summary

Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education completed as required to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state where the hospital is located.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be compassionate, sympathetic and maintain professional demeanor in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weight/vital signs, record in EMR, and start patient history.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Handle medications, administer injections, and maintain EMR and inventory.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, manage accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments, monitor, and walk dogs as required.
• Train new staff and keep hospital clean and organized.
