Job summary

CityVet Davenport is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our caring team. The VA will help the Veterinarians by preparing patients for procedures, restraining animals as needed, and supporting client communication. A minimum of 1 year in the veterinary industry is preferred.

Responsibilities include sample collection, basic tests, administering medications, and assisting in daily practice operations to maintain excellent patient care and efficiency.

• Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians - prep patients for surgery, monitor post-op, restrain animals during exams.
• Obtain samples - gather stool, blood, and other samples for testing.
• Testing - test the samples gathered and help interpret results.
• Administer medications - give prescribed medications, vaccines, or other meds per veterinarian plan.
• Communicate with clients - obtain medical information and provide care instructions.
