Job summary

All Creatures Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in patient care, monitoring hospitalized animals, and assisting with surgeries. The role includes preparing prescriptions, lab work, client education, and maintaining a neat, compliant practice environment.

Weekend availability and prior veterinary experience are preferred; candidates should be able to lift up to 25 pounds and follow OSHA PPE guidelines while delivering compassionate care

Qualifications

• Weekend work may be required.
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier loads with help.
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including PPE.
• Basic math and medication dosage calculations.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.
• Strong communication to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets and maintain inventory.
• Prepare prescriptions and perform routine in-house lab work.
• Educate clients regarding veterinary care and procedures.
• Assist with surgical procedures and radiographs.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of exam and lab areas.
