Job summary

Odebolt Specialty Care in Odebolt, IA is seeking a dedicated Van Driver to transport residents to appointments and events, assist with boarding, and keep the vehicle clean and safe. You will work with nursing staff to ensure timely pickups and compassionate service.

The role requires a valid Class D license, a clean driving record, CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain), and flexibility including weekends. Care Initiatives supports growth across its Iowa communities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s License with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement.
• Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years.
• No previous driving while under the influence convictions.
• CPR and first aide certification or willingness to accomplish.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies).
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.
