Job summary

Odebolt Specialty Care, a Care Initiatives community, is hiring a Van Driver in Odebolt, IA. You will safely transport residents to medical appointments and events, assist with boarding and wheelchair securement, and follow schedules to ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs.

You will also report concerns to nursing staff and maintain the vehicle while coordinating with teams. Qualifications include minimum 21 years of age, valid Class D driver’s license, up to two traffic violations in the last

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s License with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement.
• Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years; no DUI convictions.
• CPR and first aid certification or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies).
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.
