Job summary

Bridgewell is hiring a Driver/Generalist to transport individuals to day services and residences on morning and afternoon routes. Duties also include supporting transportation, day, or residential programs as needed, with occasional personal care.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least 3 years of driving, and a valid MA or neighboring state license with a clean record. On-site schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:30am–10:00am and 2:30pm–5:00pm, totaling 30 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to interact patiently and sensitively with passengers and staff.
• Basic computer skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport persons served to assigned programs and locations, ensuring proper restraints and safety.
• Interact with passengers, family members, and staff with patience and sensitivity.
• Be familiar with passenger needs and conditions to assist accordingly.
• Operate vehicles in compliance with laws and safety procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of routes, facilities, and emergency locations; report issues.
• Assist with routine vehicle maintenance and safety inspections.
• Complete vehicle safety checklists and route documentation after each trip.
• Notify dispatcher/ supervisor of route time variances >15 minutes.
• Maintain required certifications (FA/CPR, PABC) and comply with policies.
• Support in day, residential, or other programs; provide personal care as needed.
• Complete administrative duties for transportation or other programs.
