Job summary

Riverside Therapy Group in Newport News, VA seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver an individualized program for patients with acute and chronic conditions, aiming to maximize quality of life and functional goals. You will evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders, provide aural rehabilitation, and teach AAC strategies.

Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential to discharge planning and ongoing patient care.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• ASHA CCC-SLP certification required upon hire.
• VDHP SLP license required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification within 30 days (Required)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Provide AAC systems for severe expressive/language disorders.
• Train and educate family/caregivers and other professionals.
• Carry out treatment plans and adjust to maximize benefit and meet discharge criteria.
• Record progress and modify plans of care.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and participate in team meetings.
• Assist in training and support of team members, volunteers and students.
