Job summary

Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools is seeking Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students in center-based settings. Multiple openings with onboarding in early September. You will assist teachers, monitor safety, and help implement IEP accommodations.

Position emphasizes confidentiality, strong communication, and collaboration within Student Support Services. Competitive benefits and a 21.05–24.35/hour pay rate accompany the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree or higher preferred / required depending on role.
• Must pass the ParaEducator exam within 30 days of hire if not already qualified.

Responsibilities

• Support and monitor students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and transitions to ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Provide observations, maintain student data logs, and prepare instructional materials as directed.
• Assist with implementation of IEP accommodations or behavior plans as designed by special education staff.
• Assist with personal care needs while ensuring dignity, safety, and hygiene.
• Communicate effectively with supervising teachers and school administration about student progress or concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records under FERPA and district policies.
