Job summary

Bronx Family Network Inc. in Yonkers, NY is seeking a dedicated Residential Aide to help run daily shelter operations. You will greet clients, assist with intake, distribute supplies, and support safety and order inside the facility.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to handle emotionally taxing situations. Weekend and holiday availability is expected; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with diverse populations including homelessness and substance use.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Distributes mail and documents to clients.
• Obtain and provide a daily headcount.
• Process new client intake forms and gather required documentation.
• Ensure only authorized personnel and visitors enter the property and maintain a visitor log.
• Record all unusual incidents according to procedures.
• Conduct rounds to guarantee client safety.
• Complete incident reports via CARES or handwritten documents.
• Ensure clients follow facility rules and BXFN procedures.
• Maintain inventory and log clients' belongings.
• Provide clients with necessities.
• Verify and escort clients to Social Services appointments.
• Assist Social Services with room inspections.
• Organize and distribute clients' mail.
• Assist in cafeteria duties (meals).
• Assist with moving beds and cribs as needed.
• Support recreational activities with staff.
