Job summary

Weston County Health Services is seeking a compassionate Transportation Aide to safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, activities, and outings while prioritizing dignity and safety. The role involves assisting with mobility, scheduling coordination, and basic resident support tasks as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a CNA certification within one year of hire, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CNA certification required within one year of hire.
• CPR certification preferred or required per facility policy.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, therapy appointments, outings, and other approved destinations.
• Assist residents entering and exiting vehicles safely using proper transfer techniques and equipment.
• Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices appropriately during transport.
• Maintain accurate transportation schedules and communicate appointment times with nursing staff and departments.
• Assist residents with mobility, toileting, dressing, and preparation prior to appointments as needed.
• Observe residents for changes in condition and report concerns to nursing staff promptly.
