Job summary

Western Slope Health Center is seeking a dependable Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for residents to medical appointments, activities, and community outings. The candidate should be patient, flexible, and committed to preserving resident dignity and safety on every trip.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 25 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation and local roads/destinations.
• No disqualifying driving offenses within the previous seven years, including DUI or reckless driving.
• No more than two moving violations within the previous three years.
• No more than one at-fault or other disqualifying accident within the previous three years.
• Ability to complete required background screening and drug testing, per applicable law.
• CNA training completion and maintenance of required certifications, as required by the facility.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and related computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to scheduled medical appointments, activities, and outings.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting facility vehicles.
• Assist with transferring residents into and out of wheelchairs and securing wheelchair-bound residents.
• Demonstrate safe transfer techniques, vehicle ingress/egress, wheelchair transfers, and securement.
• Follow safety procedures and approved transfer techniques for mobility needs.
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, staff, and offices.
• Maintain transportation records and schedules; adapt to longer appointments as needed.
• Perform vehicle safety checks and report maintenance concerns.
