Job summary

Manor Lake LIVING is seeking a caring team member to assist with meal service and resident care in a senior living environment. Responsibilities include food service, portion control, cleaning, dietary procedures, and interacting with residents, families, and colleagues.

Requirements include English proficiency, professionalism, and the ability to follow safety and sanitation policies. Prior experience with seniors is preferred, with a high school diploma or GED.

• Must demonstrate professionalism, empathy, patience, and effective interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, service and delivery of meals and snacks.
• Know and use portion control procedures when preparing and serving meals.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties including work areas, tables, appliances and floors.
• Complete required training for but not limited to serving alcohol in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Conduct yourself professionally and contribute to, service-oriented environment through appearance, communication, and interactions with residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.
• Assist in dish and utensil washing and cleaning including gathering soiled items from carts, trays and dining areas along with placing clean items in proper storage areas.
• Assist in distributing and collecting menus and checking all trays for completeness and accuracy of menu and diet preferences before distribution to residents.
• Perform all daily tasks in accordance with established Standards Precautions and sanitary, safety and infection control policies and procedures.
• Treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect.
• Review and promptly report to the Culinary Director all resident complaints and grievances.
• Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Safely and effectively handle infectious waste and/or blood and body fluids with appropriate safety gear.
• Ensure proper storage of raw and leftover foods, obtain food supplies for next meals.
• Promptly report all hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents to the Culinary Director and/or Executive Director.
• Assist the Culinary Director as necessary and recommend changes as required, ensuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Any other tasks, assignments, projects, or requests as requested by the Culinary Director or Executive Director.
