Job summary

HarborChase of Olney in Olney, MD is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to assist residents with Activities of Daily Living and to uphold dignity and respect at all times. You will support physical, emotional and spiritual well-being and respond promptly to resident calls.

Responsibilities include following LOC, reporting changes, aiding meals, assisting with laundry and room upkeep, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school education.
• Non-Certification with proper training, or possession of valid state certification as C.N.A.
• 1–3 years experience in a senior care community or nursing home environment preferred.
• Good understanding of Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and its impact on behavior.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, associates, residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality care and assistance to residents in accordance with policies and resident rights.
• Assists residents with physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
• Responds to resident calls in a timely manner.
• Assists with Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Checks residents every two hours and reports findings.
• Assists with meals and dining room care.
• Maintains clean and tidy resident rooms and dining areas.
• Assists resident personal laundry as directed by supervisor.
• Establishes and maintains good relationships with residents and families.
• Follows safety guidelines and company policies.
