Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Norwich, CT is seeking a Resident Care Associate to support residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. Shifts are 3pm-11pm and 11pm-7am; pay range $21-$23 per hour.

The RCA helps with daily tasks, follows individualized care plans, documents services, and promotes dignity and quality of life through patience and teamwork. No prior experience required; CNA or HHA preferred; CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• CNA or HHA certification is required.
• Ability to fulfill both physical and emotional needs of residents.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain according to policy.
• Upholds resident confidentiality.
• Flexible availability, including weekends.
• Demonstrates compassion and genuine concern for seniors.
• Proficient with basic office equipment and computers.

Responsibilities

• Directly assist residents with daily tasks, communicating with care director about changes.
• Aid residents with mobility using proper techniques and equipment.
• Perform routine care rounds according to individualized care plans.
• Assist with lifts, moves, and transport using safe body mechanics.
• Maintain skin integrity and care by attending to incontinent residents.
• Document daily care activities per policy and standards.
• Report resident issues promptly to the supervisor.
• Respond to inquiries from residents, visitors, staff per policies.
• Familiarize with individualized care plans and provide support accordingly.
• Contribute insights to care planning by observing resident needs.
• Interact respectfully with residents, families, visitors, peers, and supervisors.
• Provide physical, emotional, and psychosocial support to residents and families.
• Adhere to residents' rights and report incidents of abuse or rights violations.
• Implement safety and infection control procedures and proper hand hygiene.
• Maintain a safe working environment and attend trainings and meetings.
