Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Coventry, CT, is seeking a dedicated Resident Care Associate (RCA) to support residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. You will assist with daily activities, help implement care plans, document services, and promote dignity and quality of life through patience and teamwork.

This full-time role requires CNA or HHA certification, CPR/First Aid, flexible availability including weekends, and a respectful, confidential approach.

Qualifications

• CNA or HHA certification required.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Upholds resident confidentiality.
• Flexible availability, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Directly assist residents with daily tasks, and communicate with the Resident Care Director about care provision and condition changes.
• Aid residents with mobility using proper techniques and equipment.
• Make routine rounds to ensure needs are met per individualized care plans.
• Assist with lifts, moves, and transport using proper body mechanics or devices.
• Maintain skin integrity and hygiene; change incontinent residents as needed.
• Document daily care activities per policy and standards.
• Report resident issues promptly to the supervisor.
• Respond courteously to inquiries from residents, visitors, and staff.
• Familiarize with residents’ care plans and provide appropriate support.
• Share observations to inform care planning and needs.
• Interact respectfully with residents, families, visitors, peers, and supervisors.
• Provide physical, emotional, and psychosocial support to residents and families.
• Adhere to residents' rights and report any incidents or abuse.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures and proper hand hygiene.
• Attend trainings, in-service programs, and staff meetings.
• Maintain regular communication with the Resident Care Director.
• Fulfill any other duties as assigned.
