Qualifications

• Previous RN experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Iowa or compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse / Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates accurate and clinically relevant information with patients, families, and co-workers during handoffs.
• Demonstrates competent assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation based on each patient’s plan of care.
• Maintains real-time documentation of nursing care per hospital policies.
• Directs other licensed and non-licensed personnel in the provision of care as assigned.
• Delivers age-appropriate communication, addressing fears, anxieties, and language/cultural barriers.
