Job summary

MercyCare Johnson Ave Clinic in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN/day shifts to support patient-centered care in the clinic setting.

The RN will perform nursing assessments, prepare patients for visits, administer medications per standing orders, collect specimens, assist with diagnostics, educate patients, and contribute to safe care. Iowa-licensed RN with BLS required; 1 year medical office experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in Iowa required.
• BLS certification current in accordance with AHA.
• Education sufficient to obtain required licensure.
• One year medical office experience preferred.
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter training completed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments, supplies and exam room for visits.
• Room and prepare patient for examination, review history and vitals.
• Administer injections and collect specimens per standing orders.
• Provide test results and patient education materials as directed.
• D.Print after-visit instructions and schedule follow-ups as needed.
• Manage phone calls regarding test results and treatments as directed.
• Assist with EKGs and Nebulizer treatments per provider.
• Handle medication requests/refills per protocols and document.
