Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to support patient-centered care. You will work with unit teammates to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while adhering to Mercy's standards and policies to promote safe outcomes.

You will communicate clearly at handoffs, document in real time, educate patients and families, delegate appropriately, and respond to emergencies within scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Iowa.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• Experience in acute care preferred.
• Strong communication and patient-centered care requirements.

Responsibilities

• Communicates accurate and clinically relevant information at handoffs and with the care team.
• Demonstrates competent assessment, planning, intervention, coordination and evaluation based on the patient plan.
• Maintains real-time documentation of nursing care.
• Delivers ongoing education to patients and families.
• Delegates to other licensed and non-licensed staff as assigned.
