Job summary

Ochsner Health System seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostics, and ventilation support for patients from neonatal to geriatric. You will operate RT-CRT setups, monitor, analyze ABGs, and assist with airway management and weaning as ordered by physicians.

The role requires an Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred), licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, NBRC RRT certification, and BLS/ACLS within 90 days of hire, with strong data-entry and

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• No prior work experience required.
• Current licensure as Respiratory Therapist in state of practice; NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential; BLS and ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care based on age-appropriate criteria and adapts to patient population.
• Adapts communication and approach to individual patient needs.
• Other related duties as required.
