Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide RT-CRT services to neonatal through geriatric patients. You will perform therapeutic procedures, arterial blood gas analysis, and assist with ventilation support in-patient and out-patient settings.

The role requires an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's preferred), state license, NBRC RRT, BLS, and ACLS within 90 days. Strong data entry and interpersonal skills are essential for coordinated patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS obtained within 90 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of patient served in the assigned area.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and effective communication.
