Job summary

Ochsner Health System seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostics, and ventilation support for patients from neonatal to geriatric. You will operate RT-CRT equipment, analyze ABGs, and assist with airway management while following established policies.

The role requires an active Respiratory Therapist license, NBRC RRT certification, and BLS; ACLS must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice; NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
• BLS required; ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced respiratory care procedures per policy.
• Review and document all clinical information for each patient.
• Educate patients and staff on procedures and treatment plans.
• Provide diagnostic procedures and arterial blood gas analysis as ordered.
• Adhere to privacy, safety, and regulatory requirements.
