Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Louisiana seeks a qualified Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for patients from neonatal to geriatric levels. You will operate RT-CRT setups, monitor and wean oxygen therapy, and deliver arterial blood gas analysis under physician orders.

Required credentials include a state license as a Respiratory Therapist, NBRC Registered status, BLS and ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist with active state license.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• BLS required; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care appropriate to patient age and population.
