Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for inpatients and outpatients across age groups from neonatal to geriatric. The RT-CRT will manage arterial blood gases, EKGs, and oxygen therapy as ordered by a physician and per policy.

Qualifications include an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's preferred), current state license, NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist, BLS, and ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Respiratory Therapist in the practicing state.
• Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
• BLS from American Heart Association is required.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced respiratory procedures per policy.
• Review and document clinical information for each patient.
• Educate patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic procedures (ABGs, EKGs) and interpret results.
• Provide age-appropriate care from neonatal to geriatric patient populations.
