Northwest Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to provide resident care under nursing and medical staff supervision. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, administering medications per orders, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and safety procedures.

The role also covers non-licensed tasks, documentation, and collaboration with the care team to maintain high standards of resident well-being in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• QMA certificate in good standing on file with the appropriate Department of Health.
• One year experience in long-term care setting desired.

Responsabilités

• Obtain and record patient's vital signs and weight.
• Administer and document medications per physician orders (oral, topical, suppositories, eye/ear drops).
• Participate in in-service programs and follow all policies, procedures, HIPAA regulations, and safety plans.
• Perform treatments not requiring licensed nurses (e.g., hot/cold applications, vital signs, weights) following standard precautions.
• Observe and report adverse medication effects and vital signs as needed.
• Provide direct resident care and act as a CNA when not administering medications.
• Develop and maintain courteous, professional relationships with residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
