Job summary

Aperion Care is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to provide resident care under the supervision of nursing and medical staff. The role involves administering medications as prescribed, recording vital signs and weights, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.

The QMA will perform non-licensed treatments, monitor for adverse drug effects, and support residents with daily care while developing professional relationships with staff and residents.

Qualifications

• QMA certificate in good standing on file with the Department of Health.
• Current CNA certificate on file.
• One year experience in long-term care setting desired.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records patient's vital signs and weight.
• Administers and documents medications per physician orders (oral, topical, suppository, eye/ear drops).
• Complies with policies, HIPAA, and safety procedures; follows Fire Safety and Disaster Plans.
• Performs non-licensed treatments (hot/cold, vital signs, weights) using standard precautions.
• Observes and reports medication effects and adverse events.
• Takes vital signs prior to certain medications.
• Provides direct resident care and acts as a CNA when not administering meds.
• Develops courteous, professional relationships with residents, visitors, and coworkers.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
