Job summary

The PTA will ensure safety and respect for patients and families while addressing age-specific needs and pain management policies.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree.
• Licensure: Current license to perform as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the applicable State of practice.
• Experience: Physical Therapist Assistant may be entry-level.
• Certifications: Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy.
• Perform physical therapy procedures and related tasks as delegated by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• May modify a specific treatment procedure within the established plan as patient status changes.
• Documents patient progress notes.
• Provide physical therapy procedures safely and effectively under supervision.
• Address age-specific needs for all patients.
• Treat patients and families with respect and dignity.
• Assess and manage patient pain according to the department's pain management policy.
• Identify and report any patient safety issue when identified.
• Provide technical assistance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinate workload in the department.
