Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support licensed Physical Therapists in delivering patient-centered care. The role includes performing delegated PT procedures, documenting progress, and ensuring safety for all patients within the established treatment plan.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the applicable state.
• Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy and related tasks.
• Modify a specific treatment procedure within the established plan as patient status changes.
• Document patient progress notes.
• Ensure safety and effectively perform procedures under supervision.
• Address age-specific needs for all patients and treat patients and families with respect and dignity.
• Assess and address patient pain per department policy.
• Identify and report patient safety issues when identified.
• Provide technical direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinate workload in the department.
