Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System in New Hampshire is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant to perform phlebotomy and support specimen processing under supervision.

You will collect venous and capillary samples from patients of all ages, prepare and transport specimens, and assist with safety and quality control in the lab. The Concord Site may require travel to off-site locations for phlebotomy collections.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy training with a completed externship preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting, clinical support experience in specimen processing preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to relate well with clients in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform in emergent or crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and processes venous and capillary blood samples required for laboratory analysis from patients of all ages upon request.
• Processes clinical specimens for delivery to laboratory departments and for pick-up by reference laboratories (when applicable).
• Performs all duties within assigned work blocks.
• Demonstrates compliance with corporate, departmental and job-specific requirements.
• Assists in the preventative maintenance and disinfection within the Specimen Processing area.
• Concord Site only: Travels to off-site locations for the purpose of phlebotomy collections.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
