Job summary

Mercy Health’s Defiance Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to draw blood, prepare specimens for testing, and complete clerical tasks to keep the lab efficient.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred but not required.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Perform order entry, result lookup, report generation and answer calls in a friendly manner.
• Identify patients accurately and ensure correct service for patient safety.
• Handle clerical duties such as inventory checks and phones as needed.
