Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for our Lima Medical Office Building to join the Laboratory Department. The Phlebotomist will draw blood, prepare specimens for testing, and perform clerical duties to keep the department efficient.

You will greet patients, ensure accurate patient identification, enter data, and assist with inventory and phone duties. A high school diploma or GED is required, phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required, and travel to off-site locations may be

Qualifications

• Provides excellent customer service skills by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner
• One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required
• Education includes High School Degree or GED and optional certification

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect and process specimens per established procedures.
• Identify patients accurately and match identity with service.
• Data entry and processing of specimens (labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing) as per test orders.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
