Job summary

El Rio Health in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect blood samples from patients of all ages and support the laboratory team. You will perform venipuncture, ensure quality control, and assist with patient check-in and invoicing as needed.

Responsibilities include processing orders, delivering critical results, and maintaining accurate records. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. Evening and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Phlebotomy certificate or 2+ years as Phlebotomist/Medical Laboratory Assistant/PCT.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood by venipuncture for all ages.
• Monitor quality control for supplies and equipment.
• Verify insurance using computer systems and phone.
• Check in patients, collect co-pays, post postings, and handle cash.
• Prepare and provide instructions for specimen collection.
• Maintain filing systems and records in the department.
• Deliver critical results to providers and nursing staff.
• Input and retrieve laboratory orders in EHR/LIS.
• Ensure samples meet quality and safety standards.
• Travel to other clinic locations as needed.
