Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking a Pet Care Assistant to support the veterinary team by preparing treatment rooms, handling supplies, and assisting during examinations.

You will restrain pets as needed, perform in-house lab tests within state rules, and help maintain hospital cleanliness and comfort for hospitalized patients. A High School Diploma and 1 year of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for radiography (x-ray) duties.
• One year related experience preferred, especially with customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the treatment room for examination and gather all necessary medical items and supplies.
• Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
• Prepare routine in-house lab tests (e.g. heartworm, FeLV, FIV, parvovirus) as allowed by state rules.
• Monitor the comfort of hospitalized patients and ensure their well-being.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and assist with housekeeping and instrument cleaning.
• Assist the veterinary team and other staff as needed.
